"SMA’s 5 Point Action Plan Job Placement Strategy"

SMA has developed a strategic and comprehensive 5 point action plan to give you an almost unfair advantage over other job applicants. These five points through which we take action have been identified as the most likely sources for job leads and increased exposure for your job placement.

I just spent $10,000 on a trade school in Texas.TEN THOUSAND FREAKIN BUCKS! not to mention the the 7 - 8 hours a day {after an 8 hour work day} for 9 months to be great at it. For what? My school's job placement program was missing one thing "JOB PLACEMENT". I wish I had of known about your school before enrolling in the one I did.

Consider SMA's approach to job placement:

  1. Your mentor is paid a very healthy bonus for recommending your hire (if your work ethic and attitude towards learning makes you worthy of his/her recommendation). Mentors are like any other teachers – they take great pride and joy in seeing their students succeed. Your success becomes personal to them, as your skills are in many ways a reflection of their effort and knowledge. Typically, when openings occur inside their radio station, they’ll likely know about it and will approach the program director on your behalf.

  2. Your mentor is paid an employment bonus for getting you hired outside their immediate station, as well. You're now accessing their personal relationships and contacts in the local broadcasting community to work on your behalf. Imagine the advantage this creates for you when they become aware of job openings and personally recommend YOU for hiring.

  3. SMA’s network consists of influential broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada. In the event your mentor is not aware of any job openings during your training, SMA will access our extensive database of broadcasting contacts in your local community on your behalf. Each of our contacts also has his or her own network as well. Do the math! Your chances vastly improve when you have a whole network working on your behalf.

  4. SMG owns the TVandRadioJobs.com job board. Before jobs are posted on the board for all to see, they need to be approved. Guess who approves them for posting? We do. And guess who has access to openings in your area before anyone else? That’s right. You! Plus, your demo and resume will be hosted on the site until you’re hired – FREE – for program directors who are searching for talent. (Note: The TVandRadioJobs.com site is currently undergoing a site redesign and conversion to a private membership site. Our programmers expect completion by late spring).

  5. SMA has formed a strategic alliance with another industry leader, the renowned Sportscasters Talent Agency of America. Your demo tape and resume will also be hosted on their site, FREE for 30 days (Set-up fee is separate) - for program directors to more easily discover you. That makes two job boards on which your demo portfolio will serve as your own 24/7 promotional salesman to program directors who are actively seeking talent.

Compare SMA’s strategic approach to your job placement with other sports broadcasting schools or university programs - or with anyone else in the industry.

With SMA, and only SMA, you receive;

  • Two highly visible job boards to post your demo materials - exclusively for hiring program directors’ eyes.

  • Motivated mentors who are industry insiders working on your behalf.

  • Mentors with direct access to decision makers - recommending YOU for employment consideration (if worthy, of course)

  • Mentors who are professionally and financially rewarded when you’re hired. Your success is also theirs! No wonder they’re willing to work their hearts out for you!

Are you starting to see the employment advantages SMA gives that will separate you from the crowd?

Here’s the dirty little secret in the broadcasting schools community:
Ask any of the others broadcasting schools or mentor/apprentice program to show you what their job placement strategy involves. The truth is - most don’t have a plan they can show you BEFORE you’ve paid your tuition. Instead, you’re likely to get a lot of smooth sales talk, but little else in terms of a concrete plan of action like SMA guarantees you.
